Mission:
Partners of Delta, Montrose and Ouray is a nonprofit organization working toward a future where every child receives positive guidance and encouragement. The Partners mentoring program promotes positive change in youth through one-to-one mentoring relationships with adult volunteers.

Program Description:
The Partners program pairs youth ages 6 to 17 ("Junior Partners") with supportive and caring adults ("Senior Partners"). Partners' staff screen and train adults, who commit to mentoring a child three hours a week for three months to one year.

Mentoring involves...

  • playing games
  • doing homework
  • making art
  • spending time outdoors
  • hanging out
  • talking

Staff support volunteers' efforts with recreational opportunities, life skills training and other support services for the youth.

Kids Served:
Youth are referred to the program from local community professionals. These kids all face challenges in their personal, academic or social lives.

Parents support their children's participation in the program and kids are in the program because they want to be.
